hey! i just read your page on what are good products. and you said you were on birth control...(ortho-cyclen and ortho-tricyclen ) i was wondering..when you first started bc did you start breaking out at first. i really want to start bc but i dont want to go through a doctor. any ideas? thanks

I am not Wandering Soul but just politely butting in that some will break out first from birth control pills.

No, I did not have an initial breakout from starting birth control (but as Waterlily said, some people do). The BC pills do take a while to kick in though, as far as acne... When I re-started on the pill back in May, my face had broken out pretty badly... and I didn't see improvement for a month or so.

Likewise, I quit birth control last December, and it got worse only gradually, over several months.

So... if you start BC... And you break out... it might not even be due to the BC, if you were already breaking out on a regular basis anyway. Hope that made sense.

I'm not sure how you can get BC without going to a doctor... Why don't you want to go to one?
