Unhappy Want to help my brother

Hello. My younger brother and I (i'm 29 he's 27) both have allergies. Mine are manageable but his are very bad and I don't like seeing him having so much trouble. He has had all the tests and is allergic to almost everything, and he had weekly shots growing up. He showed a lot of improvement in highschool and into his early 20's. Now the single symptom literally driving him nuts is itchy eyes. He has to get up in the middle of the night and pull the white mucos gobs out of his eyelids. The docotor calls it vernal kera conjuctivitis, or something like that, and says there is nothing to do about it. The common drugs are not phasing it one bit. He is so miserable. Any suggestions or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Want to help my brother

There are many prescription allergy eyedrops available, I don't know why his doctor would say there is nothing he can do. Patanol is the one I use, and it works great.

Opcon-A is one you can buy OTC to tide him over until he gets to the doctor.

Re: Want to help my brother

Thanks for the reply, but maybe I phrased it wrong. He is on many different kinds of drops, but nothing stops the mass forming in his eyes at night. I asked him if Patanol was one and he said yes. He also laughed and said thats like giving a guy who just had his arm blown off an advil (thats my brother). Anyway, his case is very severe, and from what I can tell from searching the internet, there may very well be nothing to do about it. I do appreciate the response and will keep checking back if someone has the magic answer. Thanks.

Re: Want to help my brother

hmmm Maybe try doing sinus rinses will help him. I know my eye "gunk" was a lot worse before I started doing them. The rinses plus the Patanol has helped me a lot. Plus the sinus rinses will help any nasal congestion.
