Question EXTREME rough face...:(

About three days ago I woke up to find that my face had become incredibly bumpy, like it was covered in hundreds of tiny little zits. They were all flesh colored and unless you looked up close with the right light, you couldn't see them. As I do when I have any break out, I dabbed the area with a water/alcohol mix, washed it with some antibacterial soap and let it be. Then Saturday it seemed to be fine early in the day, but as the hours progressed my skin become dryer and dryer and hotter and hotter (only on my face, it stops at the jaw line and does not run down onto my neck), and itchier and itcher. Now, today, my face feels like it has been completeley dried out, my entire face from the brow down is red and blotchy, and it is itchy beyond belief. I have never had anything like this before and it is quite uncomfortable. Help, advice, anything, anyone, please!!!!

Re: EXTREME rough face...:(

Stuckinarut,
I know you said that you have done it before but, given that you have dryness now, I would discontinue use of alcohol since it is very drying. As is antibacterial soap on the face. For some people the antibacterial stuff can be drying on their hands (it is in my case) so, I am guessing that it can be worse on your face. You need to treat your face differently than you do your hands and the rest of your body. The skin on the face has sort of a different chemistry than all over the rest of your body so, you can do the same stuff that you do to the rest of you.

It kind of sounds like hives or eczema (sp) so, my suggestion is to go see a dermatologist to have him or her diagnose what it is and then they can tell you how to treat it.
