Angry pregnancy high blood pressure

I was in and out of hospital with high blood pressure from 32 weeks / pregnant, reaching at one stage 180 / 115. The birth was by 'c' section due to the high blood pressure. I was discharged from hospital without medication and ended straight back in there two days later. back out of hospital and 8 weeks later I am still on medication. My blood pressure is now 126 / 70..

Before being pregnant I was fit riding 100km, swimming mountain biking etc.. I find it very hard to still be on medication to help control my blood pressure. When I think about it I cry and am mad that i had a baby in the first place cause it has changed my life. Even though I wouldnt turn back time and love him to bits.. it is hard..

I was at the doctors the other day t get my medicane reviewed and the dosage still stayed the same. He said that I could be one it for a lot longer maybe drop one of the pills off but have to keep taking the other.

Can someone please tell me if they had the same problem and if they went back to normal eventually and not have to take medication???

How much longer can this last I dont accept that I will be on medication the rest of my life!!!

Re: pregnancy high blood pressure

I had the same problem with my pregnancy, mine jumped up to 160/110 range. I had a c section as well. This is my 2nd pregnancy and it happened both times. My BP did return to normal but for me it was a good 6 months.. I had to be on meds. I am on meds now for high bp.
If you didnt have a problem with your BP before the baby I'm sure it will stabilize as soon as your body returns to normal again.

You should just be happy you had a healthy baby. It made me sad to see you angry for having the baby because you are taking medication to control your BP.
