High Blood Pressue

I keep looking in these forums to see if anyone has high as blood pressure as me (200/140 on a good day) and I don't have any stress. (No Offense) but, I see people in here wondering if 130/85 is high. While it is high, don't worry about it. There is no medication that works for me. Both my parents had really high blood pressure and their both dead because of heart attacks and stroke. Now, I am 36 and had a stroke already so don't come freakin' out if your blood pressue is mildy high. Like I said, I don't want to offend anyone - but let's take a look at reality.

Re: High Blood Pressue

Hi,
I would first tell you try another doctor. Any doctor who can't get your pressure below you say 200/140 it seems to me, at 36 yrs. old you better see someone else.

I don't want to alarm you, but I had a stroke due to high blood pressure which I never knew I had. When I went to the emergency room it was 210/132. Please, Please see another doctor.

Even after my stroke, they were unable to get it down to a good level. After about 6 weeks trying different meds, and different combinations of meds, they brought it down.

Today, 4 years later, with a combination of 4 different BP meds, I'm glad to say it is now about 123-130/80-85.

I hope you will heed my advice and see another doctor.

Re: High Blood Pressue

Hi,

That is very high blood pressure , I'm sorry I wish I can help all of you. I have one advice that I have personal experience with. Hot weather is the best for High Blood Pressure, I live in Egypt and it's very hot here in summer and this is better than medications in controlling blood pressure. I'm not telling you to come to Egypt, but you are welcome anytime , I advice you to live in some hot weather city. I'm not sure that there is a state in the US that has the same hot weather as in the Middle East and Africa.

I wish you all the good from my heart
Michael

Re: High Blood Pressue

Definitely see another doctor. 36 years old is young - you have alot of living to do, and shouldn't be having such high BP. You need to get on some sort of program - diet, exercise (simple walking is great), and cutting down on sodium and caffeine. I'm sure a proper doctor would be able to help you, and find the right combination of meds for you. I know there are many people who don't believe in taking pills - I have to take 3 different ones to control my BP. I have no choice.
