anyone here take their bp meds at night

for some reason i feel like my heart is racing, cant' breath as well during the first hour of trying to fall asleep.

I take ziac at 10 am and 3 days ago he prescribed verapamil for headache and bp because he thinks the ziac is giving me headaches but not sure about that. Im sure you've read my other posts about that.

Thought maybe i should take one or the other at night. Doc and pharmacist says i can take both at same time but that seems scary to me now that my bp is almost normal again.

Re: anyone here take their bp meds at night

warrior...Hello...

I take meds in the morning...Diovan160mg and propranolol(inderal)20mg at night and again in the morning....but that is only after the doctor checked with the pharmacy to see how much could be taken at once. The scary feeling is the worst.!!!! I am glad your pressure is almost normal.

Re: anyone here take their bp meds at night

so should i take one in the morning you think and one at night . He said the ziac was causing my headaches so he though, but i think he is wrong about that.

The verapamil is for bp and headache. So not sure when to take them since i was taking the ziac in the morning and nothing at night. I think it might be wearing off around bedtime maybe so its doing that. Just not sure

Re: anyone here take their bp meds at night

Hi,

My doctor lets me take the ones that make you drowsy at bedtime, and divides my other meds, taking half in morning and half at bedtime.

I'll explain; in morning I take 5 mg. norvasc and 20 mg of Lisinopril. At bedtime, I take the other 5 mg of norvasc and 20 mg of Lisinopril, as well as 50 mg of Atenenol which makes you drowsy. I've been doing this for the past 3 years, works like a charm and I get a good night sleep.

My pressure during the day runs about 123-127/78-80. He and I am very happy with those numbers considering I had extremely high pressure which caused my stroke. Thank God 4 years later, I have not had any reoccurences.

You might want to discuss different options with your doctor.
Hope this helps!
