I have been using Mario Badescu and am clear

I have been using this for the past few months. I was clear after the first week and have been clear ever since. I was previously using Proactive. I am wondering if all of the harsh products I was using was aggravating the acne.

I am using the grapefruit cleanser followed by the kiwi cleanser which is very moisturizing, then a cucumber toner, and the oil free moisturizer with sunscreen. I happened upon this by accident when I was given some samples and am thrilled with the results. Just an FYI for some of you product junkees looking for the right combination of tricks to get rid of your acne. I may be in the minority but I suffered for years with this acne and I'd say the samples are worth a shot.

how bad was your acne?

I would say it was moderate? I always had one to three large cystic pimples, with blackheads, large pores, inflamed skin. I would need cover up daily for my nose, cheeks, chin and forehead for existing blemishes and red marks from months old pimples. I haven't needed cover up for the past few weeks. All of my red marks are faded. I am sure this is not the answer for everyone, but for some people on this board, it may help.

Hi there! I've been using Mario Badescu Products for almost 3 mos..it's good for moderate acne, I would say these products are not harsh to my skin compared to Murad, Peter Thomas Roth, Proactiv that I bought and returned b/c they made my acne worse (from moderate to severe) and dried my skin big time. Try their Pink lotion and their drying cream/mask..very helpful...I'm using cucumber cleanser and oil free moisturizer (better than neutrogena - it doesnt make my face greasy)..Try to register in their website and they would send you samples good for like a week or two..though some are not available like the pink lotion b/c it goes in small bottle already..only $17+ (available at nordstrom's only or mario badescu website)

For cystic acne, over the counter products won't really help you, my dermatologist said you need to take antiobiotic orally and apply topical solution w/ antibiotic ( so far, tetracycline works for me and clindamycin) every person has diff results.
