Do I have Rheumatoid Arthritis!!!

I have been having pain behind my knees, In my hips, and my Ankles, on and off for about a year.

I have a positive rheumatoid Arthuritis level of 37, my ESR was normal,what does this mean!!

Do I have it not or not the doctors say nothing.

I have been having pain under my ribs at the front for 9 months , can you get pain here from RA!!

Hi MAD,

The first things that hurt sound like RA. Didnt they give you any meds for it? The last part about the ribs, does not. You should get that checked out by someone other than a rheumatologist.

You should ask your drs. what your diagnosis is. I am not sure what an ESR is. Hopefully someone else can tell you.

I hope you feel better and get the meds that you need.

Thanks wannabe, I have been to the doctors so many times crying with this pain under my ribs!!

I have had some tests Endoscopy that showed that I have inflammaton of the duodenal, I am so weak at times and it is making me feel down!!
I do have a underactive thyroid and that a pain as you can get things that go with it!! like RA....Mandy

no meds what meds are good for RA???

Hi Mad,

My rheumy dr. gives me, ultram (light pain pill), skelaxin (muscle relaxer), prednisone (bad for you, but it helps the pain and swelling), and relafen. She started me on Methotrexate, but if you have surgery or infections, you must stop that particular med. I am also taking something that starts with Sulfa_________. That is so "ok", that even pregnant ladies can take it.

I am still in pain and have swollen hands, and fingers, wrists and knuckles. But, the above meds help. Your rheumatologist just has to figure out which drugs are best for you. I have a bad stomach with lots of ailments in it, so I have to go the non Aleve route.

Take care and bother the heck out of those Doctors!
