Worried about my husband

Lately I have noticed some changes in my husband. He is very short, and takes things extremely personal even if they are not intended that way. He is depressed and anxious. He is also have some memory loss, will forget things in the middle of a sentence, and tell me that he has told me things even when he hasn't. He is having increasing migraine headaches that seem to be getting worse with each one.

We have been through an intense amount of stress over the last year, almost lost our miracle baby, and along with that a whole road of financial difficulty, loss of a very substantial job 3 years ago, and tremendous weight loss.

His mother died of CNS lymphoma at approx 62 years old. I am concerned, he went to the doc today, they did bloodwork and said if this continues they will refer him to a neurologist. I really feel like he needs an MRI/CT scan. I want him to see a neurologist now. He is 42 years old, has no neuro history to speak of, and only takes medication for gout (Allopurinol, Colchicine, and Indocin).

Any help or words of advice would be appreciated.

Amy

Re: Worried about my husband

I would just go the to the neuro doc now, better safe than sorry. When you call for an appointment, make a big deal out of it and tell them it can't wait that way they can squeeze him in even perhaps even if they are booked... either that... if you want to do a more concervative approach, call his primary doc's office, ask to speak with him or one of his Physican assistant or a nurse and have them give you a name of a good neurologist. I would think a scan is definatly in need - just my personal opinon. Timeing is very important on some issues, get in ASAP
