Re: clonidine

Sure have, any particular question you have? I would think there are more then a few who have used clond. There's a general opinion that it can help with certain withdrawal symptoms. But I may be jumping to conclusions so please ask away and I'm sure many will help where they can

Re: clonidine

It will help with the WD symptoms. But don't take it until you have tapered first...............W/D symptoms include but are not limited to: achy feeling, flu like symptoms, headache, anxiety, upset stomach, diarreah, no appitite.....list goes on and on...............but people do it also with OTC help.

Re: clonidine

Hydro;

Clonidine (Catapres) is basically a blood pressure med that has some benefits when used in the opiate detox area. Seems like these days Dr.'s are prescribing Catapres patches to wear but your Dr. may have prescribed the pill form.

The main withdrawal symptoms that Clonidine helps with are chills, creepy crawly skin (gooseflesh), and shakiness. I know they say it may help with anxiety and cravings but I have not read nor heard many that will validate that Clonidine helps at all with cravings or anxiety. I know when I researched a detox program for myself I had the Dr. prescribe Valium (for Anxiety & sleep) along with Clonidine (for chills, creepy crawly skin, shakes), Phenergan (for stomach distress) over the counter Imodium for the runs. Most of these also make you very sleepy which is not a bad thing when you are trying to get over the withdrawal symptoms.

Interested to know how he told you to use the vic to taper, or how to do it.

Hope this helps you

phil
