Hair loss caused by accutane? Please help

Hey everyone...
i finished accutane in mid august of this year with good results....so its been about 4 months since i have been off and i have noticed a significant amount of hair loss....i did start to use a new shampoo and conditioner by frizz ease which could be the problem, but i was thinking that it may be due to accutane...
i already had thin hair to being with..i have naturally curly hair and i just had it straightened and its REALLY noticable how thin my hair has got...i have a much smaller ponytail...
im feeling really depressed by this and dont know what to do...some people have said that it could be telogen effluvium, which is hairloss due to a shock to the body and that its only temporary...but im not sure..
ive heard of mane and tail and just bought it...but im kinda nervous to use it...has anyone else used it? anyone else with hairloss after accutane? what did you do about it? did it stop? did your hair get thicker eventually?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELPPPP
thanks

Re: Hair loss caused by accutane? Please help

Hi there, this exact thing happened to my daughter four or five months after accutane. She even described her hair loss to me with the pony tail example. She went to a nutritionist and paid very close attention to her diet and supplementation regimen and her hair thickened up quickly. Accutane is a powerful med and depletes some of your reserves and when you replenish them, your hair will grow again. Try not to use any color or straightening products either chemical or otherwise while your hair is recovering.

Its 100 percent Accutane.
Go to a search engine and type in Accutane hair loss.
Apparently one of the symptoms of Accutane is hair loss.
I'll tell you one thing. I aint ever taking Accutane.
I'm glad you posted this about your hair loss.
I never knew that Accutain causes hairloss.
If your acne gets really bad. Take Doxycycline.
Thats great for getting rid of acne and it has no side effects.

Just from reading the stuff online about Accutane.
You definitely dont want to use a hair straightener.
That will make your hair weaker.

Now you ask will the hair grow back?
Usually you will know within 9 months to a year.
I read how lots of people grew the hair back that they lost.
Also, you might grow back a certain percentage back.
It varies person to person.

What I recommend.
First use an all natural shampoo.

I recommend 2 Shampoo's.
Thicker Fuller Hair Cell-U-Plex Moisturizing Shampoo for Fine/Limp/Thin Hair.
They sell this in Walgreens, CVS, Eckerd.
I'v used this and it definitely improves the hair shaft.
Its got nice ingredients.
Leaf Extract Rosemary, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract, Wheat Protein, Wheat Starch, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Retinol, Panthenol, Biotin, Aloe Chinensis Seed Oil Jojoba, Sesamum Indicum Seed Oil Sesame.

Another amazing shampoo i'v been using.
Its called Abba Creme Moist Shampoo.
Its got this really nice Cherry Almond smell.
Its hard to find this shampoo in stores.
But you can get this online from ****** or e bay.
It does not have harsh detergents.
It uses all natural ingredients.
Cherry bark, Sweet almond, Aloe, Flower Extract, Chamomilla, Cucumber, Nettle, Lupin Amino Acid, Soy Protein, Wheat protein,

I have very dry hair, and I spent literally hundreds of dollars trying to find just the right shampoo. I noticed a difference after one use.

3 vitamins I recommend for growing hair.
One is Biotin 5000 MCG.
I take the Sundown 5000 MCG of Biotin.
I get this at Walmart.
Biotin is the best vitamin for hair growth.

I also recommend 1000 MG of MSM.
I take either the Now or Jarrow 1000 MG per capsule of MSM.
MSM is really good for hair growth.

I also recommend Calcium citrate with Vitamin D and Magnesium.
Calcium citrate is the best calcium to absorb calcium in your body.
I get the Bluebonnet - Calcium Citrate Magnesium Plus Vitamin D.
Country Life, Kal, Solgar, Now also make a good Calcium citrate with Vitamin D and Magnesium.
