From Methadone to Suboxone - How does it feel?

Has anyone had any experience going from methadone to suboxone? I've been on methadone for 12 years and haven't used or drank in that time. I'm at 15 mgs of methadone and I go into the hospital on Monday at 7:30am to go on Suboxone. I'm looking for what it feels like. Is there withdrawl symptoms once the Suboxone has been administered. After being on Suboxone, what is different as compared to methadone? Methadone takes the urge away to use. Suboxone is supposed to block opiates, but does it keep you from using like methadone?

I think the best place to post this question would be in the addiction/recovery board. They are helpful. I know you can't post the same question on different boards so maybe you can have a moderator make the switch for you. From my understanding people have been switched to suboxone because it is a newer drug with less side effects but I believe it blocks opiates just as your methadone does. It's probably scary for you to switch since it has worked for so long. Is there a reason they want you to switch? Good luck.
