Talking alternative treatment for seizures

Hello everybody,
I am new to this board. Back in October 2001, my son at the age of 16 started having seizures. He had a grand mal seizure as I was giving him his first driving lesson. After that seizure and medical follow-up in the emergency room, I began to notice that he -on a daily basis - was having petit mal seizures. He had another grand mal in May of last year. Thereafter, he had a total work-up by a neurologist: cat scan, mri and eeg. All tests were negative. Medication was prescribed but we decided to try other options before putting him on medication. We did a hair analysis which showed he had extremely high copper and calcium levels. So, over the last ten months we have tried supplements, diet change, clay baths, aromatherapy, herbology, chelation, relaxation techniques, colonics, Dr. Hulda Clark's techniques, the water cure, biofeedback, etc. In other words, we took an extremely aggressive approach in trying to eliminate his seizures. In doing so, we spent thousands of dollars. What we were really trying to avoid was putting him on medication for a lifetime and having to deal with all of the adverse effects of medication. To make a long detailed story short, given all we did, he continued to have petit mal seizures every single day. They were especially noticeable in the early morning hours with head nodding and eye fluttering. Several months ago, (February 7,2003) in my continued quest to help him, I came across some information about a type of treatment known as "amaroli" aka "autoruotherapy" aka "auto urine therapy" aka "urine therapy" that had been known to stop seizures. We were so desperately seeking to eliminate these seizures that we gave the therapy a try. We had nothing to lose. Plus, it costs nothing. One week after starting the therapy, the seizures stopped. We were elated!!!!!!! The seizures stopped almost as fast as they came. Here we are three months later and he has not had a seizure in almost 90 days. Each morning, he wakes up at 6am for school and there is no seizure activity. We are so amazed! I am wondering if anyone else here has had success with this type of therapy?

Hi Sal,
I am also looking into alternative treatment for my own epilepsy.
I haven't heard of urine therapy before. Where did you find your information? Did you have to see some type of doctor/naturopath to guide you through the process?
I'd be very grateful for any information/contacts you can give me.
Fantastic news about your son! Well done for sticking it out and keeping on trying different methods - it's all worth it even if the last thing you try is the one that works.

Congratulations about your son!
I don't know if I'd have gone through with all the trying...wow!
