Switching BCs - when is it safe to have sex?

I switched over from Yasmin to Kariva recently and wondered if I need to wait to have sex? I stopped taking my Yasmin a week early so I started my period a week early but continued like everything was normal and started the Kariva that following Sunday, so I never missed a beat with anything. I've only been on the Kariva for 8 days now and I didn't know if that was long enough or do I need to wait a month since it is a different kind of birth control? I would appreciate any advice!! Thanks.

As long as you have been on it for 7 days you should be protected.
