Odd question

Hi, I have an unusual question regarding night sweats,Is fever the cause of them in lymphoma? I have never seen a mention on the web about a high body temp causing night sweats? I have had night sweats off and on for a while and decided to keep a thermometer by my night stand just to see and its always 97.1,never over 97.3 during a a night sweat,as soon as I wake the sweat disappears.

I dont think it is a fever per se... night sweats are just a symptom of lymphoma... I never had night sweats... mine occurred during the day... I would get just unbearably hot and become drenched... Have you told your doctor?? What kind of lymphoma are you dxd with? I have Difuse Large B Cell Non Hodgkins..

Re: Odd question

Hi, I have not been dx with anything but subclinical hyperthyroidism which is not persistant enough to treat and a pos mono spot test showing a past infection.I have been fatigued for about 3 years, recurring night sweats, tender lymph nodes under the armpits, just feel like crap! I have been to many dr's each checking me over feeling my nodes but all say Im fine, all my bw is also fine.I never have any fever, usually I have a lower temp of 97.8 which is norm for me, no weight loss.I must be crazy because the dr's say they cant find anything but I know something is out of whack

Try not to worry, easier said than done I know!

If you feel as though you aren't getting anywhere, go back and discuss your worries, you know your body better than anyone else, and if you don't feel right you need to find out the reason, for your own sanity.

It has taken me a year for someone to take me seriously!! and now every thing is happening really fast.

Don't take no for an answer, ask for a second opinion, could you go privately? I asked to be sent to a physician, if they can't find the first cause they generally tend to keep trying until they can.

Good luck to you keep us up-dated.

Best wishes Susie x

Re: Odd question

Hi, thanks for the reply, I am treated as a nut case!!?They say it's anxiety/ depression causing all this, maybe?? but I do not think so. I even saw a psycologist and receive counceling but they are puzzled after 2 years of seeing me.I have been to one dr after another 20 or more and many test, maybe I get brushed off because I have cheap insurance.I did come very close to a dx of grave disease 2 years ago "hyperthyroidism" after seeing one endo and they wanted to give me the RAI to kill my thyroid and they wereagainst using tapazole or the other ant******** drugs so I went to MUSC for a second opinion and they said my thryoid is ok?I saw my family dr fri and he ordered more thyroid test since it has been a while since being tested,so I'll know the results next week.I have not worked since May 06 after getting fired for sick days and thought of applying for disability but for what health reason? One dr said it was CFS which is possible another lupus "ruled out" lyme "ruled out" TB "ruled out" polycythemia "ruled out" and the list goes on.I have been on a 3 year rollercoaster in the medical field,I could be a doctor with all the knowledge I have aquired. My life has done a 180, I was at one time energetic, a supervisor at a textile coorp, had my own photography buisness, not big but I had customers and a side landscaping buisness as well and a new home ect... All gone!!lost it all due to whatever is ailing me.I guess when I pass out or am near death they will say we found it!!
