for those dealing with ice & cold ......

Have you gone into active flare up? While as is continual flare up for me it was paticulary bad since right before our ice event and cold blast.
I finnaly saw neruo today i was grateful he was there to take care of the severe pain issues....
So wondering how the cold ice is affecting yall?

I get more joint pain and especially more stiffness when the weather gets cold, more so when it the temp drops drastically. I also have a horrible time when it rains or when a snowstorm is happening. It even feels like my muscles are stiff.

Hi all,

My hands and legs and arms are really hurting with this cold and ice in Texas! I go to a rheumatologist and she only let me up my prednisone by one pill per day! She also said to stay in and keep warm with a heating pad and rice socks... She just does not seem to believe in too much pain meds. I sometimes wish she did! I do take ultram (tramadol) and skelaxin, and relafen. But, all of those meds together still do not take the hurt away, when it is this cold!!! I cannot wait til spring! :>

The only thing besides meds that seems to work for me, is heat. I put a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a tea towel on my hands and they got all torn up! I guess it is because my skin is so thin...

I hope yall are better at dealing with this cold than I am.

I have a rhumy as well she did great for me for about a year after that would not address the pain issues or the fact the sed rate on labs was still out of range. My internist refered me to a nurologist pain specailist and he was wonderful with me. Took all my labs my mri and all my other recent reports and started treating me with active pain management within 3 months the sed rate was responsive to His intervension......
Oh as far as the cold icey cold feet even with heater and electric blanky still ice cold feet.
ALthough today he had no explanation for the dispursity , he said keep em covered and warm.....
Tobefreetoroam, please fight for pain releif it is out there you just have to maybe ask for referal or help from your primary care doc for referal.
When i see the comericals for aleive for severe to moderate ra i wanna throw a pillow at em and yell no it doesn't work for severe pain and other issues too!
