Lump in throat is killing me!! Help!

This is making me insane, i've become so depressed over this. Everyday for almost 3 months I have woken up with a feeling of a golf ball stuck in my throat. It is there all day long. I had an endoscopy done, the Dr. said my reflux is not bad, and that it is slight bile reflux, however he did have to put slight pressure when putting the scope in because the upper sphincter was tight.
He seemed to shrug it off (he doesnt have to live with this), so now I am seeing a different gastro and going for an upper GI.
No drugs have helped this...I even take Xanax hoping to relax the muscles (and myslef fromt eh panic this is causing me as I feel like my throat is closing). I was thinking even of botox injections, I hear that may work, or throat stretching.
Has anyone found a cure for this..?

A few things to eliminate the ball in the throat. Most of the time it's caused by swallowing to much, which causes to much air in the stomach and swallowing all the time irritates the throat. Eliminate chewing gum, candy etc. and when you drink water, drink it all at once and out of a glass or cup, don't sip out of a bottle. Oh and stress makes it 100 times worse.

Alex...absolutely try to stop swallowing to test it.

I would constantly keep swallowing to test the lump...according to the Doc, this just made it worse.

These symptoms seem to come and go...hopefully this will pass soon.

One thing that seems to help me with many of the symptoms (cough, mucous, sore throat, etc.) drinking plenty of water.

Yes you need to drink alot of water but just don't sip it. I don't know why, maybe because the stomach has to keep opening as you constantly sip the water but sipping seems to make it worse. I drink about 10 glasses of water a day and drink the entire glass at one sitting (I drink it normally but I'm finished it in about 10 minutes not over an hour).

I have that lump in my throat right now. Whats weird was last night I had less reflux then I usually have, but yet I have a lump in my throat, go figure.
