I have posted here before, mostly under back issues.
I'd like some help with my Ultrasound report. A little history: I am 36 years old, no children. I have ongoing non stop bleeding for many, many months. My Gyn tried Prometrium, which stopped the bleeding for a couple of weeks the first time I used it, but not the second time. I have some severe cramping on my left side, and bloating. I also have an IUD, which has given me no problems.
OK, here's the Report:
History: IUD Placement with DUB
The uterus is anteverted and measures 7.5 x 3.8 x 5.0 cm. Endometrial echoes are prominent measuring 2.4 cm. There is an IUD in pleace. There is a hypoechoic area in the anterior aspect of the lower uterine segment possible representing a fibroid. It measures 1.5 cm.
The right ovary measures 2.7 x 1.4 x 1.7 cm and the left ovary measures 6.3 x 3.6 x 4.6 cm. A cyst is seen in the left ovary measuring 4.8 x 2.8 x 4.3 cm. There is a small amound of free fluid in the cul-de-sac.
Impression: IUD in place
Suspect a fibroid uterus.
Relatively simple cyst in the left ovary measures up to 4.8 cm.
Could the fibroid or the cyst be causing my bleeding? My pain? I would appreciate any input you all can give me. I will be seeing my Gyn in a few days but I want to ask him the right questions.
