bacne!?!

Hi everyone. I've never posted here before but I'm feeling kind of desperate.

Junior prom is in less than two months and because I'm SO SMART (or not), I bought a very backless dress. buttttt i have a plethora of bacne that is not clearing up.

My doctor put me on antibiotics last month but it's not helping at all. She said it'll get WORSE for a month and then start to clear up, but I'm afraid it's not working. She's also told me to wash with soap, and she prescribed clindamycin phosphate lotion to rub on it.

but thus far it's not working, and I only have a month and three weeks to clear it up. Do you know of any good at home remedies or processes that'll help?! I'm up to try anything!!!

Use something that will scrub your back really good. Try taking flax oil and make sure you don't eat a lot of junk food. I only get acne if I eat a lot of junk. You can also try ***** hazel. Use a cotton ball to rub it all over your spots.

Re: bacne!?!

So, I pulled the same brilliant trick with my wedding dress--and had no bacne by my wedding day. I used Neutrogena Rapid Clear Foaming Cleanser--and got one of those back scrubbers. I put it on all over and then scrubbed it--don't rinse in bath water, be sure you're using clean water (whether it's in the shower itself (and don't let your showers be too long) or just rinsing off your back with the shower head.

Good luck! Those darned antibiotics never worked for me. You can also move on to stronger gels from the dermatologist if nothing else works.

Re: bacne!?!

I got DUAC like 4 days before my prom and it was actually so harsh that it murdered all of the bacne on my back and my back was like 95% clear the day of prom haha but it only lasted like a week, after my back adapted to it it came right back but it saved my life for that prom at least. Try diet, i once went on a low carb diet to lose weight and got a good surprise when my chest/back acne cleared up like 80%. I just ate more whole grains and proteins, and very little sugar. It was hard but i lost 10 lbs and had clear skin! lol My back is clear now but only from accutane. I can slightly manage the pimples on my face when they come but bacne is the devil, its so stubborn. Good luck and let us all know how everything works out.

Re: bacne!?!

Remember, "Scrubbing" will only spread the acne around.

Try upping your showers to twice a day, and start tanning. That will help dry the acne up.

Right before you step out of the shower splash some cold water on your back (I know this will take getting use to, but it's not so bad) as this will close the pores (Hot water opens pores, cold closes them) and keep the bacteria out.

Good luck.
