Unhappy Helping my Wheezing 4yr old?

Today is one of those day's. My child is having a wheezing attack and I feel helpless. I gave him his nebulizer treatment of xopenex. But he seems to get worse when I give it to him. It takes about 1hr or coughing and throwing up for it to work. I feel like I'm uselss. I'm not sure if there is something out there that I am missing. Does anyone have any ideas? Am I doing something wrong? Help anyone with suggestions on how to help my son.

Have you told this to his Dr.? What does he say? Perhaps your son needs a different type of medication that will work faster, and with less problems. You might also consider getting him evaluated by a pediatric pulmonologist. Good luck. It's tough when the little ones are sick.
