Question Throat infection for two weeks?

I have been seeing my doctor since it started. I have been on the Z pack, promethazine with codeine, and now I am on amoxicillin.

Two weeks ago tomorrow I have had a problem with a choking feeling in my throat. The only way I can describe it is like choking on post-nasal drip. He diagnosed me with a throat infection and an upper-respiratory infection. The choking and fever were still there, so I went back on Monday. He said he didn't see much congestion but prescribed amoxicillin. That night is when it got WORSE. I got a full blown cold, and last night I did not sleep at all due to the coughing and choking feeling. Today I feel much better, aside from my throat! I feel like maybe he is not listening to me. The discomfort is like at the bottom of my throat. Does that make sense? lol. I don't know what else it could be....
