one month later and still restless legs when i lay down

Man oh man. Since I did the sub detox for a week, I didn't experience what i have in the past. But these creepy crawling restless legs are whats keeping me up. I thought I had insomnia but I can relax. Any suggestions on help to ease the uneasyness.

This alone, I will never abuse again. If i have to take them after surgery or whatever, I will skip days so I won't get addicted. Weird though I finally fell asleep at 600am this morning after laying in bed for hours but was actually able to sleep during the day. Strange. Jayboy

Re: one month later and still restless legs when i lay down

Ive had the problem when coming off the pills not being able to sleep, but once I fall alseep (5-7am) dont want to get up. It is very strange. Hate the restless arms and legs the most, I can deal with the rest. Makes my knees hurt too.

You may try a nice hot bath and some icy hot or therma care pads on legs, that has helped me in the past.

Hey Jay...the thing that worked for me the most was either eating about 4 bananas (for all the potassium in them) or try buying either a potassium supplement (and take 400 milligrams before bed) or magnesium (300 milligrams before bed)...this will work i promise...good luck 2 u!

Thanks so much. I just wonder when this symptom might end. I will try everything you recommended. Jason

Jay,
Restless legs are a very common after detoxing from opiates..Sometimes it can ease up after a week or so,while other times it can be ongoing for awhile..I would suggest that if the banana's or the potassium magnesium combo dont work for you then you should contact your doctor about possibly getting an Rx for the new drug thats out for restless leg syndrome called Requip..Let me tell you it works wonders..I know several people that had VERY major restless leg problems that were interfering in their sleep and everything and they dont have those problems anymore..Its not a narcotic or any kind of mind/mood altering drug so you should be fine to take it...I would wanna go with either that or the old fashioned Quinine Sulfate for the restlessness in your legs..Trust me both are great..Though I would only reccommend you try either of these only if you continue to have to problems for an extended period of time, they start to interfere with your sleep thereby causing problems in other areas of your life and only after discussing these options with your doctor to make sure there would be no problem for you to take one of these two medicines..I hope this is something that will go away soon on its own though..Maybe you will get lucky...Good Luck and all that...
