bruised rib, fever and cough

hello, I received a sharp elbow to the chest on saturday while dancing. I went to a dr and was told it was a bruised rib. He told me to take ibuprofen and wait for it to get better.

its been four days and I have been unable to sleep because of the pain. I went back to the dr today and got a prescription for pain killers.

when I got home I noticed that I had started to get feverish and have developed a phlegm-y cough.

is this cause for concern... pnemonia or lung damage? or is it par for the course?

thanks
