Beta Blockers and Ibuprofen or Naproxin

I used to take ibuprofen for headaches quite a bit not knowing that my HBP was causing it. I started taking Toprol XL 50 mg in September and the headaches went away.

Recently, I cracked a back molar since I grind my teeth while I sleep. I had a temporary crown for a couple of weeks and experienced dental pain. I took ibuprofen regularly for pain relieve. I now have a permenant one but have some discomfort now and then.

I have read that using anti imflammatory drugs while on medication for HBP is not recommended but the AstraZeneca site does not mention it. Does anyone have any insight about this?

Thanks for your input. My doctor told me that some ibuprofen was okay but I have been taking it everyday. Hopefully, my tooth will heal and the crown will be fine.

A tooth is usually a short term problem even though it SEEMS like forever so take whatever you need for pain relief. It's not likely to be a problem with any beta-blocker.
