Contagious For How Long (Strep Throat)

Hello
I found out yesterday that I have strep throat.
I took my antibiotics last night, and then this morning, so right now I have two doses of Augmentin in me.
How long until I'm not contagious?
My SO wants to come take care of me, but he doesn't have health insurance so I don't want to risk him getting it.

I haven't actually heard of catching strep throat from anyone else. My daughter had one a few years ago and none of us caught it from her. I think, hold off on the deep kissing and he should be OK.

Not very long with the antibiotics maybe a day or two, but that augmentin will give you the runs :=(

I agree with seraph48, I had a particularly nasty case of strep over christmas and I went undiagnosed for about a week and I was kissing my kids, sharing drinks, etc. etc. and neither one of them got it - or my husband. Feel better soon!

It's 24 hrs after you start the antibiotic. I disagree with the others, it is very contagious.
