Someone please scream for me

OK guys I need to complain. The pain in my side is SOOO bad I can barely stand at 90 degrees. I started after I came to work and now all I want to do is SCREAM but since I am in an office I can't do that. I have gone into the ladies room and cried several times today but still need a good scream. Painkillers are not even making a dent today. I don't want to call doc because if pain gets out of hand then surgery is next and I am just not yet ready for that (See prior posts).

Thanks all and hope you are all feeling better then I am.

Re: Someone please scream for me

2plus,

First of all I am soooo sorry you are having to go through all that pain hon but please do not wait until it gets too bad to call the doctor. I know you do not want surgery but you may not have a choice, the pain will get so bad you won't know what do to.

I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Terry

Dear 2plus-- I just saw your post. I am so sorry you are going thru that terrible pain. I hope it's eased a bit by now. I will say a prayer for you and try to beam some good juju your way-- and I'll still eat a Sally Lum bun for you! Hang in there. I will be thinking about you. I'll check in when I get back, my hope is things will get easier for you. Annette

Re: Someone please scream for me

I feel better today. I am in a training class for 3 days and the lack of running around helped a bit. Though it is hard to sit that long.

The doc called my results are in but I missed his call. Allie....I'm scared! I just have a really bad feeling about this. Even the tone in his voice when he left a message for me sounded less then encouraging.

My family (sans hubby) does not know what is going in as I am having a hard time discussing it with them. My mom keeps blaming herself ..... thinking she did something wrong when I was inside her. She is staying over for Easter Saturdday night so I will try to talk to her more about it then.

Ironically when we got together for the weekend my cousin mentioned that her sister in law just found out she needs a kidney transplant due to scarring. They are doing all sorts of fund raisers and stuff for her.

I have to find a way to stay positive and I will. I will cry to Spike tonight and hope tomorrow brings good news. I won't be able to post until tomorrow night due to this class.

Her I go selfishly rambling on. How are you feeling? Any more clots or updates on your condition?

Re: Someone please scream for me

Ok the results are in. Right side is functioning at 52%, left side at 48%. My doc will not operate because the differential is OK and due to the complexity as discussed before. He discussed me with 3 other docs and noone will touch me. Next step is to hopefully find a specialist at Columbia Presb or Boston.

He says the function levels are acceptable for now but he will monitor for any changes as time goes by. He was not happy when I told him the renal scan left me uncomfortable for over a week.

I feel better now that I spoke to him.

The hunt for the specialist now begins.
