Air in chest

I will describe what I am feeling right now. My chest and back started hurting very badly and it feels like an air bubble or something stuck in their. Anyone ever experience this or know what it is and how long it lasts. Please help, I am scared I was having a heart attack or something.

Re: Air in chest

Hi! I have maybe what you are describing. Do you feel like an uncomfortable feeling like your food is stuck and keep burping???? I am thinking it could be heartburn or indigestion, although I never get it. Try taking an antacid, I just took some Tagamet and immediately that horrible feeling went away. I know I was worried it was heart related too. If the antacid does not work or you are experiencing chest pain, or shoulder, arm or jaw pain see your doctor ASAP. I hope all that it is is heartburn. Take Care.

Re: Air in chest

I think it's probably just gas. I've had really, really painful gas sometimes that actually felt like it was pushing upward and felt kind of like what you are describing. Try some gas medication and stay away from excessively rich fiber foods for a while. Like raw veggies and beans, that stuff will cause it to get worse. Or try some Beano, that might help, too.

I don't think it's your heart, I think it's more likely gas. But I'm not a doctor and I'm just guessing.

Re: Air in chest

Thanks for your replies. I think it was indigestion. I had horrible stomach ache all day and I think it may have been something bad I ate. I have never really had any big problems with gas, heartburn or indigestion. I ended up taking a pepcid AC and I guess it worked cause it went away shortly after and I felt fine but boy was it scarey. I never thought gas traveled that far up in the body and then just got trapped like that.
