Lo Ovral 28 anyone??

Hello, I have been on ortho tricyclen for about 2 years now but I have had bad spotting for the past 4-5 months so my Dr. just switched me to Low-Ogestrel, which is generic for Lo Ovral-28...I am starting it this Sunday and was wondering if anyone is on this or knows anything about it?? I haven't seen any posts on this kind so far...just want to know if anyone has had any side effects on this that I should be looking out for....Thanks!

Re: Lo Ovral 28 anyone??

I have been on it for about 10 years and the only side effect that was a pain is lack of lubrication during sex so I have had to explain it the guy and use lube. Recently, however I have noticed that my sex drive was zero...nada. So I went off the pill at the suggestion of someone here because they said that he pill can zap your sex drive. And I am telling you that my sex drive shot straight up! I am supposed to go back on next week but I am gonna talk to my dr. to see if I can try a different one although I think it might just be the pill in general that does that...I'm not sure. I mean it could very well be that both of the side effects I mentioned are just caused by the in general but as far as anything else, I never had headaches, cramping or anything and what I LOVED is that I stopped getting periods-whoo hoo!

Thanks for your reply! Is it normal to stop getting your period on this pill? How long before it completely went away?

Re: Lo Ovral 28 anyone??

I believe that it was a few years...and I remember that I completely FREAKED when I missed because I was like clockwork due to the pill. My doctor said that it is normal for some women and the asked if I wanted a different one so that I get them and I was like "Are you crazy??"

Re: Lo Ovral 28 anyone??

Hey- just wanted to let you know i got put on lo-ovral ( well im on lo ogestrel b\c its what my healthinsurance gives- hey its only 10 bucks!)for heavy bleeding and spotting due to a lowdose pill trial, and I absolutley LOVE it. so predictiable, no sideffects, ( for some breast enlargement during certain times- but im not bothered by that)
personally i feel my sex drive is off the hook - i have no lubrication issues, and evertying is really intense. i feel as though that could be mind over matter with most pills. im also in a good relationship and comfortable wih my pills, soo that helps you relax and all. but anywas good luck, the pills been around for ever, lots of studies done, and just a good basic pill- no funky dieurtics added or special androgen acne stuff. good clear skin too if thats of interest to you.
