I have been seeing my doc for fibromyalgia, and 4 herniated discs, I have been seeing this doc for the last 9 months (i had a baby 10 mos ago so i wasn't on pain meds for a while) before i had the baby I was on Duragesic 75MCG along with percocet 10/650 every 6 hours for BT pain. I was on that therapy for 3 years until i got pregnant. After I had the baby i moved and had to start seeing a new doc, I have HMO Medical assistance insurance, so they limit the docs i can see. I am seeing a primary doc. until i can get into a specialist, he started me out on 20 mg oxycontin 3X a day for pain, which didn't work, he then increased me to 40 mg 3X a day a week later, that also didn't work due to how severe my pain is, and 2 weeks ago wrote me a script for 80mg , however my insurance company wouldn't allow me to fill it, due to it being an early script (my doc told me to double up on the 40mg until i saw him to get the 80mg script) so for the last 2 weeks ive been dealing with partial scripts of 20mg and 40mg, that i could pay cash for. Sorry for the long story, tomorrow I go to the doc. to get my new script, my insurance allows only 60 oxy's a month, when I need to take 3 a day to get relief, does anyone have advice as to what I could suggest him to put me on that may work better, or maybe a BT med since I can only get 60 oxy's a month, also my insurance only allows generic, which doesn't seem to help very much, i once had taken brand which worked better, but my insurance would'nt allow it...sorry for the babbling, im in a lot of pain, have a husband, 10 month old baby, and handicapped grandfather to care for, and need some advice on pain relief. please help!!!!
