I had some acne as a teen, then at around 24, it came back with a mission it seemed. I have tried everything. My doctor put me through five different antibiotics (oral and topical). He finally gave up and sent me to the Dermatologist.
The Dermatologist had me go through 3 different treatments and I finally quit the last one (Retin-A) after about 6 months and decided not to go back to him.
I had surgery shortly after, and went for like 3 days without being able to even get out of bed to wash my face, and miraculously it had cleared quite a bit in that time.
Now I do exactly that. I will wash it with just plain water at room temp for 2 or 3 days, then I will stem my face and get my pores opened up. I scrub it gently with anti-bacterial soap (I use dial) to get the pores clean deep-down, then rinse with cool water to get them closed while they were extremely clean.
I know different things work for different people, but I strongly suggest anyone try this. Think about all the things that you put into your body by taking pills or slathering on next-to-poison and having it absorb into your body. I am starting to learn as I get older, that most of the best things in life are natural. I know that anti-bacterial soap Isn't natural, but it's not as un-natural as all those chemicals. Good luck, I feel your pain and my heart goes out to everyone who has to deal with this.
