Red face Help

My fiance is a type 1 diabetic. She has low income and was denied medicaid after she turned 19. We can't afford anymore insulin and she is not elligble for ssi. We are going to have to take her to the er tomorrow when we finally run out of insulin. Is there anyway to get her medicaid immediately because if not then she is screwed.

Re: Help

If you watch tv you might see a commercial of montel willams where he is telling people about a plan where they get low income family's medication that they cannot afford. I would suggest that you go to her dr. and ask them if there are any assistance in your area. I get mine free of charge because of my income and lack of insurance. It comes straight from the pharmacuital company every 3 months, I know that there are several companies that do this you might want to check it out. Merric is one and there are several others too.

Re: Help

Novo Nordisk will give out insulin for free to people in need. They make Levemir and Novolog. Unfortunately, there is a lot of paper work she'll need to file before getting approval. So, you won't be able to get it by today. For her here and now needs, I would ask her doctor for sample.

Wink Re: Help

I appreciate everyones input. We went to see her endo today and everything went well. We're going through Norva Nordisk or whatever it was, It looks promising. As for the immediate future i was able to scrounge up some money for a bottle or so of insulin until that goes through. Thanks again
