roxicet...question!

Hi everyone-

So I had my tonsils out late tuesday afternoon, which makes today, Saturday, my fourth full day. Thursday was the day from hell- I continued had to take my Roxicet painkiller on an empty stomach because I couldn't keep anything down without throwing up, so I called my doctor and he prescribed promethazine for the nauseau. It worked great!

Here's my question regarding my painkillers..

--The doctor prescribed me a 300 ml bottle of liquid Roxicet (percocet, I believe)...and I have a little less than 100 ml left. I'm hoping this will last, because I assume doctors don't usually give out refills for such strong pain killers. I've been really on track with taking 2 teaspoons every four hours, as the directions say. If I run out, can I call in a refill? OR will the doctor tell me to try something like tylenol? I would hope that as long as I'm in pain they would give me whatever I need?

Re: roxicet...question!

If you have no drug abuse history like me they might call in a refill for you! Just call the Dr and see what they say to you. If the pain is getting better stick to otc if you can, percocet is highly addictive. Good luck Randy

Re: roxicet...question!

The doctor can give you a refill but since its a schedule 2 drug it has to be written out on an actual prescription pad, not called in or faxed. Thats the law.

Hope that helps
