Storing medication

I have some medication that I'm currently not using, that is a liquid in capsule form, and I was wondering what would be the proper way of storing it for *potential* future usage? (although I hope not anymore...)

It is very expensive and I would hate to just let it sit there and become unusable in the case that I ever might need it again.

Thanks.

Re: Storing medication

the very best thing to do here in order to get the best and appropriate info on that specific medication would be to just call your pharmacist and ask them.they would be able to tell you for certain.every med is not created equal and yours may have to actually be disposed of for some reason.you just need to go to the best possible source for this kind of info really.hope you never need it again tho.FB

Re: Storing medication

i agree with FB

Also... don't store medications in the bathroom cabnet. Even though everyone does it. The humidity (Heat and Moisture) is bad for all medications. A Cool, Dry place like a closet is better then the bathroom.

Re: Storing medication

OK thanks.

Now last question - what about the fridge? Sorry if that sounded funny but I don't have a clue...

I'm still going to ask a pharmacist however.

Re: Storing medication

Chemist here.. Freezing pills can extend there life.. and refrigerating medication with liquid components. Do not use medication 6 months past experation dates.. chemical breakdown and radical formation will occur with in this time making the medication less effective or dangerous.

Sincerely,
MG
