Hashimoto LevoThroid Doses

Hi All!

My goiter seems to be going down a bit (I was ready to cut it out myself a few weeks ago). I have a question, everyone talks about the doses they are taking, I'm on 50 levothroid once a day. That seems low? My doc caught my hashi's fairly early (I'm 27) so I'm not sure if I'm lower because of that or if she's got something else in mind. My latest tests have my TSH at 2.1. Why do you guys think my dose is so low?

Re: Hashimoto LevoThroid Doses

When treating hypothyroid patients, most docs try to keep them within a target range of TSH 1-2, depending on symptoms. I'm guessing you are not presenting with symptoms which would indicate need of a dose increase at this time.
