HI! Hang in there.... I went thru this treatment and it is TOUGH!!! But it will go away after you finish the medication. Left untreated, h pylori for me has been a nightmare!!! Make sure you take all your medicine on time and good luck!!! I will keep you in my prayers that you are healed and time passes quickly!!

Re: H Pylori Treatment

Hello there,
I had antibiotic treatment a couple weeks ago for H. pylori.
I felt awful for a time, but its well worth it.
Last week I ate a fresh tomato ...... the first in over 7 years.
I am now trying small amounts of the foods which caused me the greatest
discomfort, and so far all is going well. Tonight it was a Sweet & sour.
Its wonderful not being bloated, and also not full of flatulence.
Silly perhaps --- but its hard to believe my digestion is back to normal...
The bed blocks at the head of the bed are gone.
Lifes great. Hang in or hang on. You will feel the same soon.
Regards. J. in Lincs.

Hey Boz,

It's good to hear that you're feeling so good after the H Pylori treatment. I am currently on it now. So far, I've gone 7 months without a diagnosis, and it wasn't until a month ago that my PCP said, "Oh yeah, you have high antibodies for H Pylori". (Even though I did the blood work 5 months before that!) I'm doing okay on the antibiotics (it's Day 6 for me), but I'm wondering-- when will I start to feel better????

So far I feel okay-- some mild pressure in my lower chest, continued fullness after not eating much, etc. These are problems I had when everything started back in February. I just can't imagine feeling like my digestion is back to normal, but hearing your story gives me hope. I'm also afraid to try a lot of different foods that I used to eat for fear of getting sick (extreme abdominal pain, fullness and discomfort).

I know that just because one has H Pylori does not mean it is the cause of their symptoms, but I am praying that it has been the cause for me, and that my stomach discomfort of the past 7 months will be a thing of the past. Two of the GI docs I saw still seemed to think I was just suffering from Non Ulcer Dyspepsia, and maybe that is the case, but I hate the idea of taking these antibiotics and not having any improvement!

So I just want to know-- if I am going to feel improvement, when will I feel it? Should I be feeling it now? Should I be feeling it in a week from now when my H Pylori course if finished? I just don't know....
