does the dosage/ effects of xanax intensify if taken with lexapro

i read on another messageboard someone said that it intesifies 60%!!!!!!!!!!
um how can that be true and why wouldnt dr.'s tell us that
i know lots of ppl who take xanax with their ssri's and /or lexapro
not sure if its just lexapro or all of them
but now im worried bout taking my xanax with it????

I have been taking prozac and xanax together for years, and I feel much better taking it than not. Remember your doctor is trained in dosage and drug interactions. I don't think prozac intesifies xanax, that is a strong drug in itself.

I am on lexapro and take xanax as needed. That is a bunch of crap. My doctor answered this question when I asked her from day one because I am so crazy when it comes to meds. She said "Alyce, Xanax will not change the effects of the Lexapro. In other words it won't prevent it from working to it's fullest capacity nor will it intesify the Lexapro. She knows how I am and I have been seeing her for over 10 years. I wish some of you on this message board that don't feel great could see her. She is an amazing dr. alyce

thank you alyce...i thought if that were the case that dr.'s would tell us that...but i have been taking the xanax with the lex and doing just fine...
so your doing well on lex then?

I am doing great on the lexapro. I am perimenopausal and after 20 years my ad stopped working. She put me on Zoloft and that didn't do anything except give me the most intense migrane which I have never had for 2 weeks. we stopped it. Lexapro, no side effects (knock on wood) and feel much better. Thnaks for asking. let me know how you do.
