Surgery tomorrow

Hi everyone,
I'm having my surgery tomorrow 7/11 for trigger thumb and carpal tunnel.
Is there anything I should prepare for? Help I'm a little nervous.

Re: Surgery tomorrow

Hi Susie,

I have had many hand and arm surgeries but not the trigger finger.

I do believe this is really a common surgery and the thing to remember is to keep the arm elevated after surgery. Take the meds as directed because it helps healing when the pain is not to bad.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow....

You will be fine...just treat yourself with love and kindness today and try not to over do yourself.
I know that i always was trying to get as much done before a surgery as possible.
I am single and live alone so I would only have my Mom here for the surgery and then a few days after then I would be on my own.
So I hope you have someone to help you with the little things going on around your home for a while. If not you may want to ask a friend or someone to help you out for a while.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes as soon as you can.....Chrissy

Re: Surgery tomorrow

Thank you for the well wishes.Surgery went fine.So far I have not been in any pain, havent used the pain pills at all.I will say that I had a dream that my air conditioner was falling out of the window and I tried to catch it.That did hurt! The only thing that bothers me a little is the trigger thumb site.No swelling.I hope I have as good of luck with the healing process as I have had so far.
I hope everyone is doing fine and feeling well.Whewwwww that took a looong time to write with my left hand.LOL

Re: Surgery tomorrow

Sue, been there done that. I hated to peck one key at a time on my computer since I'm a fast typist. I also hated trying to put clothes on after a shower. Oh, and to take a shower, I put a garbage bag over my whole arm and then duct taped it closed. It NEVER got wet. But it will all be worth it.
