head n sholders for acne...

I know that this may sound crazy, but I have been using Head n Shoulders shampoo for treating my acne for about 6 months now and it is working. I use it as a spot treatment, especially when I get one of those cystic type. In the shower, I use it as a body wash on my chest and back. I started with a sample size bottle and after that I bought a big bottle. Be careful, though, as it can be very drying. I usually spot treat at night with it. It's got something to do with the sulfur in it.

It's not the sulfur, it's the zinc. I use Head and Shoulders because I get these large, painful cysts on my head and was told to use it. It works good so I'm not surprised it would work for acne on other parts of the body.

Re: head n sholders for acne...

wow who would of thought of using H&S for acne but it does make sense with the zinc that it contains. When you do spot treatments do you simply apply a small amount over the affected area and let it dry and stay on over night?
Will definately have to suggest this to my son who has terrible problems with his back. Being it's not that expensive it's worth trying.

Thanks for the great tip!

Just a sidenote, it may not be useful for everyone. I tried it and it didn't do anything, but it does dry out your skin. So it might not be a good idea to use it everyday, to drying.
