Can I try Tapazole after PTU reaction?

I had a bad reaction to PTU - agranulocytosis, or no white blood cells which is very serious - so now have to decide what to do about my Graves. Obviously I'd like to avoid RAI or surgery if possible, and am wondering if I can try Tapazole or will I have the same reaction? I took Tapazole 10 years ago and did fine. The reason I took PTU this time is because I'm breastfeeding. Thanks.

I was on a low dose of PTU - 200 mg per day. No it was agranulocytosis, I actually had no neutrophils, so very bad WBC count. Why does that make a difference? Thanks.

Sorry regarding symptoms I had mild swollen glands, and my gums were bleeding but that was it. No fever or sore throat.

My WBC was back to normal the next day after stopping the PTU so it was definitely the PTU causing the problem. What I'm wondering is will I have the same reaction with Tapazole? Is it worth a try before going to RAI or surgery or am I just putting myself at risk? My most recent labs 2 weeks ago, T3 T4 TSH were in normal range. But I've been feeling a bit symptomatic again.

PS I was only on PTU for about 3 weeks...
