Hi,
I'm allergic to bees. I found out about 13 years ago when I got stung and the sting site swelled up really big, I got hives all over my body, and my throat felt itchy. I went to an allergist to find out which bee I was allergic to (honey bees), and they gave me an Epi-Pen, instructing me, the next time I get stung, to take Benadryl first, and if my throat starts closing, to immediately use the Epi-Pen. Well, the thing is, I haven't gotten stung by a bee since then (only by a couple of paper wasps), and now, it seems that Benadryl doesn't come in liquid form anymore. It only comes in pills and those dissolving strips you put on your tongue... My questions is, do the Benadryl pills work as quickly as the liquid form used to? Do you think the quick dissolving strips would work quicker? If not, is there another type of OTC allergy medication I could use that works more quickly? Or should I just go straight for the epi-pen if I get stung by a honey bee again?
Thanks!
