Exclamation Leg and or foot cramps

Wondering if anyone knows what to take for these darn foot cramps. I have been getting them the last week or so in my feet like my toes. When i am driving it kills me, I have to stop and get out of the car and stand on it till it is gone.
Any help would be appreciated. Know it is common but such a lousey thing to have. Thanks Sunshine

Re: Leg and or foot cramps

I never had foot crams..well sometimes when i stretch my feet but not much. On the other hand i had back of knee cramp badly . It was at night , i suddenly wake up with a baaaad cramp . it took hours to go away.

Some drs say that could be due to low potassium levels. In my case i'm sure it wasn't that cause i eat potassium always.

Next thing would be YOUR MUSCLES. Think muscles and go back from that. in other words, if muscles cramp..what is realated to making the muscle cramp.. then i would say NERVES or blood flow i guess. So go for a neurologist or go get blood test done.

i've had a lot of foot numness lately. went for blood test, test results were normal.. so i went to a ft doctor, he said numness could be caused by a problem with the sciatic nerve.

Re: Leg and or foot cramps

I get these in my feet after work on the way home. I'm fairly sure it is from wearing heels!
I haven't found a way of treating it. I just take my shoes off for a while before driving and it seems to help - or wear shorter heels

Re: Leg and or foot cramps

Take magnesium supplement. I've suffered cramp in the feet and calf muscles but since increasing my intake of magnesium I haven't had cramp at all.

Re: Leg and or foot cramps

Bluebell Thank you, I was wondering if Magnesium helped, I will take some more regularly. Thanks
Noko and Green, Thank you, I eat a lot of potassium and just has blood tests so I am fine in that area. My feet aren't numb but if they were I would see a nuro. Thank you all.
