Post lasik and trouble seeing at night

Has anyone had difficulty seeing at night after lasik? I'm not talking just after the surgery ( that's to be expected) I mean permanently.

I had lasik about a year ago and I can't see at night. I get tremendous starbursts around lights.

i had lasik over a year ago and i still have difficulty seeing at night. it's like driving with expired contact lenses. everything has a glare. i asked the doctor about this and she says its cuz my eyes are dry and the lights are reflecting off the dry surface and scattering every which way. She suggested eyedrops. My glare isn't so bad that I can't see at all. I'm not sure how serious yours are.

Re: lasik and trouble seeing at night

It's true what you are describing. I know somebody who had done lasik and cannot see at night.
My advice to you is: If you can wear contact lenses DO NOT DO LASIK.
With contacts you look like yourselves anyway.

Re: lasik and trouble seeing at night

I have had the same problem for the past 6 years. I wear a corrective, nonreflective lense but what really made a difference was a medication called Alphagan, manufactured by Allergan. (available through your optometrist) I just got a sample last week and I am still playing around with the doseage. It dilates the pupil enough to eliminate the halos for me. It causes some dryness, but I think that will go away when I find the right dose for me. It has given me back the confidence with driving at night. I apply it just before dark and don't use it every day. It really has made a difference in my life.
