Need advise

Im very med sentive and need to find a bp med that has few side effects and doesnt lower the heart rate.

Propranolol it lowered my blood pressure but I ended up in the hospital my heart rate between 35-45

Lisprinol: lower bp a little but also lower heart rate into 50's also (caused severe neck spasms)

Imdur: lower bp a little, lowered heart rate and caused the worse headache Ive ever had. Didnt even compare to the Nitro headache

Verapamil: bp still bounces a little but it also lowers heart rate into the low
50's, just did some further side effect research, because since I started taking it my shortness of breath has gotten worse, my tremors have gotten worse, nausea and indigestion. I also read it can also caused muscle weakness with the combo of low heart rate it's a good explaintion why I colasped at Walmart and ended up in the ER a couple days ago.

Anyone know of a bp med that doesnt lower heart rate, doesnt cause muscle weakness, tremors, shortness breath, nausea, headaches, muscle cramps.
Thanks Rani

Re: Need advise

Hi there, Rani...

Unfortunately, different medications effect everyone in different ways, so what works for one person might cause an unwanted side effect in another.

Have they tried HCTZ on you?

Re: Need advise

How about an ACE inhibitor like Monopril.

Some folks report coughing with this med. I've been taking it for about 16 years and have not noticed any side effects.

A couple years ago I added a tiny dose the sulfa drug, HCTZ.

Recently tried and hated the Beta Blockers due to their side effects... and Hardly gave the Calcium Channel Blockers a try due to what I researched and read.
