The reason I had knee surgery was because my leg alignment was wrong, a genetic thing, not FM related. But the condition didn't help my FM because my knee cap was out of alignment and rubbing on the bones of my knee joint, and also they cut my tibia and moved it over and screwed it down to help realign my tendons that were all to the left of where they were suppose to be. My right leg is the same way, but they won't do anything to it unless I start to have problems with pain and swelling like my left leg was before surgery. As far as finding a good doctor, there are no one that specializes in FM in my area, and even if there were, my HMO probably wouldn't cover it. I am not sure what to believe about my wrist problem. All I know is most days I can't use my left hand even to get dressed with because it hurts too much. I hope I get some idea from the surgeon about my wrist. He did do a great job with my leg as far as I can tell, at this point it is much better. It will be hard to tell until I get the brace off.
