Question Restless Leg Syndrome

Does anyone have a problem with restless legs? This condition really bugs me. I don't know exactly when it started, maybe in the last year?!?! But I have it quite frequently and loss alot of sleep with it. It is bad enough to have the pain of FM and everything else that comes with the territory, but the restless legs makes me nuts. I guess since sleep is a precious thing for us with FM, restless legs is like a curse.

Hi Kattnap & Cyn. I too have restless leg syndrome. It'almost drives me crazy, but thank goodness it isn't every night. I also have occasional leg cramps and foot cramps. I know what you mean about "Fibro" being the answer to every symptom. It gets frustrating, but FM is so complex. Each of us are different in ways, yet each of us are the same in others.

Hey guys go to the sleep study! Restless Legs sufferers usually have PLMS (periodic limb movement of sleep) They can treat it with off label use parkinson's meds. I have also read that Allegra makes it worse. I have been treated for PLMS for more than a year and I'm like a new person! PLMS causes you to kick your legs to increase the dopamine production in your brain. I kicked my legs every thirty seconds and could never get refreshing sleep. That and the alpha delta brain waves of FM made me a wreck! I pesonally believe there is a connection between all these syndroms. I have FM, PLMS, and PCOS (polycystic overies caused by insulin resistance). I also had mono twice as a kid. It seems crazy to think none of these are related. Of course doctors usually look at a part of the patient not the whole person.
ttfn,
