May be cured of Lymes, but an unexpected twist

I just wanted to post that my LLMD just took me off antibiotics because he thinks I'm "cured". My Vitamin-D levels are at 55+ (I started at 17; the minimum is 32, 60-70 preferred), indicating little to no inflammation (he believes the Lymes is primarily an inflammatory disease caused by the spirochetes). We may do another CD-57 at some point to see how that looks as well.

So he took me off abx for at least a month to see if anything changes. Hopefully some of my mild symptoms will also go away, they may be caused by 7 months of abx...

On the flip side, we discovered that my wife is Lyme-exposed, though she shows no symptoms yet.

She was probably exposed from kissing/close contact, and we're waiting on a CD-57 test for her to decide what to do, but it's likely that we're going to do watchful waiting with supplementing to get her Vitamin-D levels up as well as in general improve her immune function.

So yes, it's possible to recover from this dang disease, though it's been a long road. Wish us luck, would you?

Hey bill, are you saying that your wife might have lyme disease? What do you mean by lyme exposed? What makes you think she might have it?

We had a Lyme test done by Igenex because we were trying to get her pregnant and wanted to know either way. She came back with a weak positive band, and a couple indeterminate bands. The doc says that we have to wait for the results of her CD-57 test to see how to proceed, as he doesn't believe in treatment if the patient doesn't show symptoms.

She shows antibodies to the spirochetes, but we don't know if she has active spirochetes in her, or her immune system took care of them...

We have to boost her Vit-D levels (as hers were very low due to Psoriasis and/or the Lymes) and in general pump up her immune system, but she needed that anyways.

How long have you been suffering w/ lyme? How long were you on antibiotics? Do you feel as if you're "cured"? I've just begun learning about this disease. My in-laws have been suffering for years but only just began treatment last November...any advice can help.

WOW! I guess it is possible to get lyme from your spouse, huh? She doesn't remember a tick bite? I find this very interesting because most of the symptoms I have, my husband has as well! But don't know if it is lyme yet. He has so many of the weird symptoms that come and go ie. testicular pain, ankle pain, knee pain, shooting pains etc. But he thinks that he is fine!
I told him that I will get checked and if I have it, he will have to also!

I will drag him there if I have to!!!!

P.S what is a CD-57 and when will you get the results ???
