Do they make an eye drop that is just an antihistamine?

I have horrible eye allergies. What works the best is a steroid eye drop but I try to avoid those unless I have a special occasion since steroids can cause the skin to thin on the eye and really cause damage. So I'm looking for an eye drop that is just an antihistamine without whitening. I've been using Visine A which has a antihistamine in it but it also whitens. I think one that is only a anitihistamine would be better and not have that rebound effect when it wears off.

Well I found one on my own it used to be a prescription. It's called Zaditor. It's an antihistamine eye drop without whitening so it won't create that rebound effect. I can get it over the counter oh and it also is supposed to last 12 hours. We'll see if it helps I'm going to go get it today.

I use Patenol. I am not sure if it is just an antihistamine, but it works for my whole family even my 4 year old.

Sincerely,
MG

Hi. I've had many eye problems over the years. I now get steroid induced glaucoma...so that's out! I'm able to tolerate Acular LS. You will need a prescription from doc. It is an NSAID. Check it out on the Internet to see if you have any contraindications. I do not use it every day, just when my eyes are really itchy. good luck S

How long did you use steroid drops before you ended up getting glaucoma? I am using just one drop today. I am going for a two hour bike ride and it's the only thing that's going to keep my eye from getting bad and ruining my weekend. I figure just one drop a couple times a month is safe until winter comes just for special occasions like this. That Zaditor is working good but I know it won't be strong enough for a bike ride with the pollen counts high today.

I'll look into that Acular LS stuff. I have tried patenol and for some reason it made my eye worse.
