Effects of Unneeded Pressure Medication

Hi,

I was told a while back that I had high ocular pressure and was prescribed Alphagan drops to treat it. I was told even more recently that I had developed glaucoma. Well, it turns out I do not have glaucoma and I do not have high eye pressure. I haven't taken the Alphagan for several months because I didn't like how it made my eyes feel (it made my eyes so dry that I could barely hold them open). Other than this, does anyone know the effects or dangers of using ocular pressure medication when it is not actually needed?

Thanks!
