Breast Pain

Hello there folks

Sex: Male, 41

I've had shooting pains across my left breast for the last month, so I saw a Specialist, and he forwarded me onto having an Ultrasound scan.

I was most apprehensive waiting for my turn to be seen...others in the waiting area look filled with dread, and I understood why!

I was evenually seen, and was led into a dimly lit small room, and asked to take off my top, and lie down on the bench. At that moment, I felt death was facing me with a question mark...I was nervous...the lady Dr. probed & prodded around the good breast (rght) and then the left breast...sizing up black gaps as she went through...she was rather forceful with her actions, and it hurt...this took about 10 minutes...then she left to get another Dr. and that was even worse as I thought she'd found something real bad, and needed confirmation of what she'd found...a male Dr. came in, and did the exam all over again...I was worried at what his final comments would be...evenually, he said that I'd no tumours, but that my Lympth Node was swollen, and need drugs to clear it up...I felt pleased to hear that, but when I got up and started walking, under my armpit on the left side was real sore, it seemed to be from a particular point, and it felt like the Dr's had moved 'whatever' was causing the problem to just under my armpit, and it's still painful today 4 days on, and I can't turn over on my left side whilst sleeping due to the examination on Friday!

I've said to the wife, I hope their diagnosis is correct, as now it feels even worse than before, and the pain is concentrated under my armpit!
I'm on strong 1g Augmentin Antibiotics, and finish them shortly, but it doesn't seem to be clearing the Lympth node germs up; if that truly is what it is, so I'm still worried as to what really is causing such pain and discomfort!

Your advice would be most welcome!

Re: Breast Pain

Call the specialist you saw and tell them what your experiencing. It is possible your lympth nodes are just taking time to heal. When they get infected they get sore as heck. Somepeople get this under the armpits and it is all red and swollen qnd can get really bad. Thank goodness you saw your doc and are on meds for it.
But call your doc, don't sit back and worry. Sunshine
