Re: New thread

You beat me to the title. I guess we think along the same lines.

Let me try and remember. I do believe you mentioned something about mvp and your ejection fraction and were comparing it to paula's. I remember mentioning that I also have some mitral and tricuspid regurgitation and a slight enlargement of the right side of my heart but my ef while on 100mg/day of atenolol is 60 which would make it about 52 without. Didn't feel that was too bad for a lifetime of hyperthyroid. But I've been taking beta blockers for the last 16 years to counter the effects of the thyroid on my heart. Would you mind refreshing my memory on yours? I won't wander any further than that.

I'm surprised they didn't give you antibiotics as a matter of course with a procedure like that. If they've given you 2 lots, that should fix it up though.

It kinda stinks how being ill affects so many aspects of our lives. Congrats on the vacuum though. I'm still having trouble just picking mine up.

Re: New thread

I'm scared to say anything now for fear my message will be deleted... My thyroid biopsy came out benign though

Re: i've got a low grade infection

Didn't you mention once about cardiac rehab? Whatever happened with that? Over here, they've got exercise programs designed for cardiac patients. Swimming and low impact stuff like that. Any programs like that over there? You wouldn't have to worry about the magpie bombings.

I thought it was all but standard procedure to give cardiac patients prophylactic antibiotics with any type of gyn surgery??? Is it starting to feel better yet?

Yeah, anything over 55 is considered normal here too. My biggest problem is the tachycardia and arrhythmias from the hyper. Never had a resting pulse below 100 till I started the beta blockers. Those help a lot. My bp was always good until this past spring. It's been running like 160/70 lately. I'm hoping it's from the pain but I've noticed the gp now seems to have suddenly become obsessed with the pulses in my feet and I don't think it's cause he's developed a foot fetish. I hate having so much going on right now that that issue hasn't even been addressed yet.

Exactly what meds are you taking? I do think you need to learn more about your condition. A knowledgeable patient usually does better in the long run.

That's great news Paula!!! Bet you're one relieved woman. How bout posting your labs over on the thyroid board and smack me upside the head here if I miss them. Lot's of people over there really knowledgeable on the interpretation of those. Speak beak. Just tread careful when it comes to the taboo. I've got this mouth prob that goes along with the hyper and things sometimes spew forth without thought. Sometimes I don't know which is going faster, the fingers or the brain??? Sorry.
